Well, we are back!

Our flight to and from Ecuador was relatively uneventful although we did have a few  clitches along the way. The flight from Austin, Texas was delayed because of weather which caused us to have to make a mad dash through the airport in Dallas to make the connecting flight to Miami. Frankly, we are too old for mad dashes!! Thank heavens they held the plane for us. If they hadn't, we would have missed our flight from Miami to Quito, Ecuador. It took 3 flights to get to Quito and another the next day to get to Cuenca. The same for the return trip home. It was exhausting. On the way home, there was a security breach in Miami that  required all security check points to be closed and locked until it was sorted out.  But, in the end, these few things did not mar the wonderful experience of visiting this beautiful country. I guess I should really say "visiting this city" as Cuenca, Ecuador was our destination. We did have an overnight stay in Quito, Ecuador when arriving and leaving the country.

Our flight from Quito to Cuenca did not leave until the evening so we took a trip to La Mitad del Mundo. This monument marks the exact line dividing the northern and southern hemispheres.

This is a photo of my daughter with her right foot, viewers left side, in the southern hemisphere and her other foot in the northern hemisphere.
