When it gets too hot!

Even the birds need to cool off.

Mockingbird

I'm glad we made a watering hole for the birds. They seem to enjoy it and come to drink often.

Last of the Season

The morning glories are hanging in...but barely!

Coming into town

Driving into town just as the storm was clearing.

I prefer this!

Winter is not far away.

Before we left, the trees on this mountainside had lost a lot of their leaves. More and more snow was accumulating on the taller mountain tops. It was raining more often. Thankfully the temperature warmed during the rain...but for how long? We did not know. Not wanting to get caught in a large snowfall, we came home. HOT! I prefer this.

Crisp and Clearing

We went to Silverton Colorado for our vacation.

This morning it had been raining. Just as we started on the downside of the pass the rain cleared up and presented us with this magnificent sight.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Wise spiders will weave webs wonderfully well. I wonder if that is a yellow jacket? One can only hope.

Dragon of the Insect World

so called because they are such fierce hunters. This one rode into my computer room on my purse. What I want to know is, if it is so ferocious, why didn't it eat the yellow jacket.

Love Hate Relationship

Normally these don't bother me. Can't say the same for my daughter. They really don't like her. But, if I leave them alone they leave me alone. Although, they do like to sneak in the door when no one is looking and they like my computer chair. I rarely (not ever) check my seat before sitting down. OUCH!!

Doe and Young Buck

Here is another shot of some deer I captured while out enjoying the Texas hill country.

White Tailed Deer

Yipes!! It's been a while since I last posted an image. I've been busy catching up with work and have had little time to do any photography. We took some time off this past weekend to attend a birthday party for my DIL's father. They live in a beautiful part of Texas. While there, we traveled a little further south and I managed to get a shot of this white tailed buck.

I'm still at it!

My husband likes this one the best. He says he likes the "homey" feel.

Hibiscus II

I'm also looking for a composition to paint.

Hibiscus

I bought a Hibiscus plant for the deck. It's a tropical plant so I will have to bring it in during the winter and hope I don't kill it before spring. But, I am having fun taking photos in the meantime.

Backfence Friends

Watching these birds together reminded me of neighbors gossiping over the backyard fence.

Relaxing on the Porch

My husband built a deck and porch onto the front of my studio.

I will be forever grateful. I think it is one of the nicest things he has ever done for me.

I sit with a cup of coffee and watch the birds come to the feeders. It is so relaxing just watching them that I spend entirely too much time on the porch instead of working. Oh, well.
